Meet Google Trends, a tool that can tell you when, where and what is trending at any given moment. To showcase Trends, Google partnered with Swift in creating real-time content, based on search trends around the 2016 games in Rio.
A Swift team was relocated to Google's San Francisco offices during the summer games to create fun, interactive content for the world to absorb and share. The team researched timely sports trends, created interesting stories and animated "Googley" characters to tell the unique story on Google's social channels. When Rossella Fiamingo won gold in women's fencing, "flamingos" become the most searched animal in Brazil because people were spelling her name wrong. We ran with it and created fun creative to pair with the awesome trend. To see more examples of Trends, watch our video!
